FEB.6 -- Superlegue outsiders Mechel Chelyabinsk decided to reinstall Sergei Paramonov as team's head coach.
Paramonov was sacked on 4th of December after his team lost six straight games and sled deep into relegation zone. He was replaced by former Russian National and Khimik Voskresenks bench boss Vladimir Vasiliev. Paramonov remained with the club as an assistant coach on Vasiliev's request.
Mechel slipped even deeper into the relegation zone under Vasiliev's reign posting an atrocious 2-9-2 record. The team went winless for the last eight games (0-6-2) and is ranked 16th trailing St.Petersburg and Moscow Spartak, who're tied at the saving 14th spot, by 6 points with eleven games left to play in the regular season.
Paramonov was 8-15-5 as a head coach with the Chelyabinsk side prior to being fired last December.
