NOV.20 -- Dusan Salficky recorded his third shut-out of the season managing 15 saves, while his teammates scored twice on five power play occasions en route to a 3-0 win over St.Petersburg.

Full of young talent - Viktor Tikhonov's side has 33 points after 23 games and trails Ufa's Salavat Yulaev on goal differential for the ultimate - eighth (play-off) spot in the standings.

"Right now we don't think about (getting into play-offs) at all. We just try our best to win in every game we play," - Tikhonov said.

CSKA played without injured sniper Sergei Mozyakin, who broke his nose smashing hard against Vasily Turkovsky's stick in Monday's contest against Severstal. Veteran Sergei Luchinkin was side-lined with an injury as well. Boris Mikhailov's side also had a few notable absentees. Among them forwards Andrei Shurupov, Oleg Boltunov and defenders Vladimir Alexushin and Vyacheslav Zavalnyuk all out hurt.

Despite being outshot 30-15, the visitors were in control for most of the game and created almost as many good chances, as the home side. However Salficky was the difference. Czech netminder made several spectacular saves including a penalty shot attempt by Sergei Makarov with just 3:25 left to play to preserve his shut-out.

Igor Emeleev scored an eventual game winning goal at 4:23 of the opening period. Emeleev successfully jumped on a rebound off Alex Drozdetsky's shot.

Alexander Polushin made it 2-0 early in the second period. Tampa Bay draftee also converted on a rebound after Alexander Chagodaev managed a gritty rush down the middle.

Nikolai Semin rounded up the scoring on the power play with a blast from the point. The goal came five minutes after Polushin's tally.
