Oilers' prospect lifts Amur to home win
Game recap: Amur - Sibir

OCT.30 -- When 24 year old Maxim Spiridonov decided to cross the ocean back to his native Russia, many suspected if he'll ever get another shot at the NHL. However the way Spiridonov has played thus far for Amur, it may not be unrealistic.
Bottom line is - Maxim rejuvenated his career on home soil. Not only he's Amur's best and most productive forward, Spiridonov quickly established himself among RSL's elite core of players.
Tonight Oilers' draftee picked up his 10th tally of the season and set up a game winning goal by Alexei Yudnikov, as Amur defeated Sibir 4-2.
Andrei Pyatanov's side was quite sloppy early on. Former Blackhawk Sergei Klimovich hit the post on a break-away on his first shift. Than at 5:15 Sibir's Czech forward Leos Cermak found himself alone in front of Alex Westlund and put his side ahead, beating goalie between the pads.
It was an inspiring shift by Spiridonov's unit that prompted Amur to pull its act together. Maxim had a break-away first and soon after set up Yudnikov in the slot, but Sibir's netminder Christian Bronsard made a couple of great saves. Finally at 17:04 Sergei Krivokrasov leveled the score, beating Bronsard from third attempt.
Amur took a 2-1 lead with only nine seconds left before intermission. Defenceman Andrei Naumov scored, while Khabarovsk pulled it's goalie on delayed penalty call.
Spiridonov set up Yudnikov for Amur's third tally early in the second period. Sibir got back within a goal at 14:21 as Alexander Golts scored with help from another Oiler's prospect Alexei Mikhnov. Since than the home side dominated throughout game's conclusion.
An insurance tally was added at 6:40 of the third period. While his team had a man-advantage Spiridonov skated in the slot from behind the net and beat Bronsard on the glove side.
