Ovechkin all da way !
Match-day review

OCT.4 -- When Alexander Ovechkin scores Moscow Dinamo is sure to win. 17-year old left winger scored four times this season and all of his goals came in Dinamo's victories. Last night multitalented forward enjoyed RSL career high three point effort in his team's 5-1 win over the Soviet Wings. Ovechkin scored the opening tally 10:41 into the game pushing the puck in off his own rebound while a scramble took place in front of Oleg Glebov's net.
Late in the final period when the fate of the game was decided Ovechkin set up Andrei Razin and Alexei Tereschenko.
All in all, it was Alexander Golt's power play tally that lifted Dinamo to a victory. Golt's scored his third goal of the season on a rebound off Sergei Vyshedkevich shot. Then Dinamo had the men advantage.
Alexander Stepanov had Dinamo's other goal, while Ruslan Bernikov got the visitors' loan marker.

In Perm, Andrei Kovalenko, Vyacheslav Butsayev and Dmitry Vlasenkov scored three goals in a six minute span in the second period to lead Lokomotiv to a 3-1 win over struggling Molot-Prikamie.

In Togliatti, Viktor Tikhonov's young squad lost again... already the sixth time this season. Outstanding prospects Nikolai Zherdev and Igor Grigorenko tallied for their teams in the second period. Zherdev got out the penalty box and finished a nice three-way passing play involving Maxim Ospiov and Igor Emeleev. While Grigorenko got his goal on a power-play. Alex Boikov scored the game winner after Sergei Sevostianov sent him on a break-away midway through the third period.

In Ufa, Salavat Yulaev's Sergei Nikolaev may become a second head coach to be fired this week after his side lost to Amur  on home ice, wasting a two-goal lead. Edmonton's Maxim Spiridonov scored his sixth goal of the season for the winning side.

In Omsk, Tomas Vlasak had a goal and two helpers to lead Avangard to a convincing 6-1 win over Sibir.

In Sokolniki, Moscow - Nikolai Soloviev's Metallurg defeated his former team. Ex-NHLer Dmitry Nabokov had a productive outing with two goals and an assist.

Other results: Severstal - Neftekhimik 2-0, SKA - Ak Bars 1-2 (OT).
